Chapter 6: Bathing

The sound of running water echoed.

The apartment only had two floors.

The first floor was the living room and kitchen, with a bathroom.

The second floor had the master bedroom and a few guest rooms.

The continuous sound of water stopped,

Gu Yao stood mechanically as the bathroom door slowly opened, and Chu Muge stepped out.

She stretched, her loose clothes making her look like a sleepy, adorable girl, exuding a lazy air.

But this image quickly changed to excitement upon seeing Gu Yao.

Chu Muge flapped her "wings" happily, like a child eager for praise: "Senior, senior, I’ve prepared the bath!"

She looked at Gu Yao's dirty school uniform and muttered to herself: "But first, we need to take off the clothes and rinse the body."

Otherwise, how could they bathe together?

It was unclear which word in that sentence made her blush, but Chu Muge’s cheeks visibly turned pink, and she avoided Gu Yao’s gaze:

"Senior... can I undress you?"

Gu Yao: ?

Girl, no :D

Gu Yao tried to control her body to refuse.

Moving a rusty machine was difficult; she used all her strength to prepare to move her stiff neck, but Chu Muge’s eager voice interrupted:

"Then I’ll take that as a yes! Don’t move!"

"Don’t. Move."

Her body stiffened, and Gu Yao’s efforts were wasted.

Gu Yao: ...

This isn’t fair!

Chu Muge might think she was a mindless zombie, but Gu Yao was fully aware! qwq

"Hmm..."

Chu Muge hummed softly, scanning her from top to bottom, then her gaze lingered on Gu Yao’s pale thighs.

"So... I'm going to undress you?"

Chu Muge: (/。\)

Her shy demeanor was the opposite of her previous image. Her ears turned red, and she slowly approached Gu Yao, averting her gaze, and gently lifted Gu Yao's skirt.

—Then quickly dropped it.

"Senior! I-I’m sorry! o(*////▽////*)q"

She backed away quickly, like she had been electrocuted.

Gu Yao watched her flustered face, feeling nothing.

Who would have thought that she was so pure.

After several deep breaths, Chu Muge regained her composure and looked at Gu Yao again, meeting her gray eyes: "Since you agreed, right... I can do this."

Her trembling hand reached out, gently removing Gu Yao’s jacket.

The first attempt was a success, and Chu Muge's subsequent movements became more practiced.

Finally, she stopped at Gu Yao's bra and half-removed skirt.

Chu Muge looked at Gu Yao’s almost exposed chest and then at her gray eyes. She sighed in defeat, lowering her head, slightly dejected: "It’s still... so hard."

She muttered to herself, "That's why I couldn't get close to you before... couldn't squeeze through the crowd, couldn't get the courage to talk to you..."

Her tone suddenly turned cold and indifferent:

"So isn’t now the best opportunity?"

Gu Yao watched her rise from her low spirits, her eyes dark and deep.

Gu Yao: ...

In the eerie quiet of a world overrun by zombies, Chu Muge grabbed Gu Yao's hand, her previous shyness completely forgotten. With a face brimming with happiness, she said, "So, I am really, really, really happy now."

As she spoke, she leaned closer to Gu Yao and gently nibbled on her earlobe, murmuring softly, "Thank you, senior."

---

Water cascaded down, washing away the dust and grime.

Chu Muge, holding the showerhead, hummed a tune as she gently wiped Gu Yao's body with a towel.

"All done," she said, turning off the water and smiling at Gu Yao. "We can take a bath together now!"

The immediate thought of Gu Yao: No, she didn't want to.

A hoarse sound escaped Gu Yao's mouth. Chu Muge frowned and asked, "Senior, you don't want to?"

Yes, yes, she was glad Chu Muge had guessed.

Chu Muge's voice came with a smile, "But that's not an option. We've come this far."

Gu Yao was confused.

Chu Muge slowly took off her loose black sweater, revealing her fair skin tinged with pink. She fiddled with her necklace, removed the cross from her chest, and placed it on the bathroom counter with a crisp sound.

Gu Yao didn't want to look at her. Well, it wasn't that she didn't want to look, but...

Since becoming a zombie, she felt her thoughts changing. In the past, she would have been thrilled to see such an alluring scene. Now...

She smelled so good, she wanted to take a bite.

The bathtub was large, easily accommodating two people.

Gu Yao had never imagined she would one day take a bath with a beautiful girl. But ironically, her first thought was about biting her to see if she tasted good.

"Senior..." Chu Muge lay on her chest, half-closed her eyes, and murmured, "I feel like I'm dreaming."

Gu Yao thought: It's not just you, I feel like I'm dreaming too.

She was just taking a walk after eating too much, who knew she'd suddenly time-travel and turn into a zombie.

But being a zombie was good, Gu Yao felt like she no longer had those worldly desires.

"senior..." Chu Muge continued, "It feels so unreal..."

Her smooth hair was soaked, her face buried in Gu Yao's chest, making it impossible for Gu Yao to see the turbulent emotions in her eyes.

After a moment of silence, Chu Muge propped herself up slightly, lowered her head, and, to Gu Yao's surprise, grabbed her throat and pushed her into the water.

"Ah..." She said softly, "It feels so unreal, like a prank, as if when we wake up tomorrow, senior will become that dazzling, unattainable person again..."

A zombie's body is weak without conscious control, and Gu Yao, who had no need to breathe, was like a puppet, her mind blank as Chu Muge submerged her as if committing premeditated murder.

Chu Muge's gaze was chaotic, gripping her neck, muttering softly, "So, sense you will leave me again, right? Just like before, forgetting about me the moment you turn around—"

Her voice stopped abruptly, her eyes regaining clarity as she saw Gu Yao submerged. Panic and helplessness flashed in her eyes. She quickly pulled Gu Yao out, holding her face anxiously, "Sorry...!"

No water had gotten in, right?

Chu Muge nervously patted Gu Yao's stomach. Seeing it was flat, she coughed awkwardly, stepped out of the tub, and walked to the sink, holding her mouth.

She opened the mirror cabinet, took out a bottle of unmarked pills, and swallowed a few. Her chaotic gaze calmed, and she looked at herself in the mirror, taking a deep breath.

Closing her eyes, lifting her face, she let the water droplets slide down her cheeks, dripping onto the wet floor.
