Chapter 10: Boom!

Hurried footsteps echoed through the room.

The commotion outside was overwhelming, gunshots, screams, roars, and car horns. Every sound that reached the young man’s ears made his entire body tense up.

“Quick, quick! Cut it off!”

A short-haired girl, hearing his urgent shout, brought over a pair of wrapped scissors, hesitantly asking, “I... I won’t get electrocuted, right?”

The young man held the wire and spoke rapidly, “What are you afraid of? The handle is insulated! And to think you were supposed to be the genius Mom always bragged about. Just cut it already!”

Luckily, this place had its own power supply, so finding this wire had been easy. Now, all they had to do was wait for the bald man to step inside.

The Real-Life Boxing Champion.

Chu Muge landed an uppercut on the man before her. Without pausing, she followed it with a kick to his groin, forcing a pained grunt from him as he dropped to his knees.

He was solid, his body was as hard as a diamond. To be honest, hitting him made Chu Muge’s hands hurt.

The cat ears on her head twitched as she spotted a fire axe lying on the ground not far away. Dodging another strike from the man, she dashed toward it.

She picked up the axe just as the man got back on his feet, clenching his fists and charging toward her.

The two cheap shots to his groin hadn’t caused much pain but had wounded his pride. Veins bulging with rage, he swung his fist toward her with full force.

Chu Muge dodged, then swung the axe at him.

Clang!

The axe blade collided with his muscles.

It had no effect.

Chu Muge’s cat ears drooped for a moment. She blinked at him.

The man chuckled, seizing the opportunity to grab her by the throat and lift her off the ground.

Chu Muge clawed at his hand with both of hers, exhaling sharply. Then, her eyes shifted briefly before she patted his hand lightly.

“What’s wrong?” the man sneered. “Trying to beg for mercy?”

Chu Muge blinked again.

The next second, an air blast struck the man square in the chest, sending him flying backward.

Taking advantage of the moment, Chu Muge coughed, then looked toward Gu Yao and gave her an "OK" gesture.

The man struggled to his feet, glaring in Gu Yao’s direction. Before his vision could focus, the dog at her feet opened its mouth.

In the blink of an eye—

Boom!

The man was blasted away again, tumbling across the ground in a pathetic heap.

Chu Muge frowned, glancing at the zombie dog that seemed to be showing off, then shifted her gaze.

“You...” the man began, but before he could finish, another air blast hit him.

Boom!

He bounced back and forth like a ping-pong ball. By the end of it, he could barely move, completely drained.

Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to stand.

As another air blast approached, the man rolled to the side, narrowly dodging it, and darted toward the house.

He was close to the building, scurrying like a cockroach, and in a flash, he was inside.

There was a back door, he planned to escape through it.

Chu Muge was the first to react, breaking into a sprint.

The man raised a middle finger behind him as he ran. “You’ll regret this! Just wait!”

Crash!

At the same time, the short-haired girl, scissors at the ready, finally cut the wire.

“He’s inside!”

Bang!

The door burst open. The bald man charged in like a raging bull, his face twisted in fury.

His presence was intimidating, muscles taut. With the power of an awakened superhuman, he could easily crush a human skull.

The young man, holding the sparking electrical wire, glanced at the charging figure, then at his sister. Gritting his teeth, he shouted and leapt up, rushing toward the bald man with the wire in hand.

The bald man instinctively swung a fist, the sound of cracking bones echoing as he struck. But at the same time, the wire came down. Sparks flew, and the room lit up with a blinding flash.

Electricity coursed through the man’s body, making him convulse violently. His eyes rolled back, and he let out an agonized roar.

“Aaaaarghhh!”

The young man collapsed to the ground, clutching his broken right hand in pain. He stared at the bald man, now steaming and unconscious on the floor, his eyes still rolled back.

Just then, Chu Muge strode in. Surveying the scene, she raised an eyebrow.

The young man, bruised and battered, looked down at the unconscious figure on the floor. His broken right arm hung limply by his side, but he glanced up at her with a silly grin.

“So, what are you guys planning to do with him?”

Chu Muge heard the young man’s question but didn’t respond. Instead, she glanced at Gu Yao beside her before picking up the axe and turning toward the bald man, who was tightly bound on the ground.

“What are you doing?! Stay back, you filthy b***h!”

The bald man cursed, struggling against his bindings.

Chu Muge frowned, raised a finger to her lips, and said, “Shh.”

She made the gesture while lifting the axe and bringing it down on his neck.

Clang!

Nothing happened. She tried again.

Clang!

Clang!

After several swings at the same spot, a faint white mark appeared on the man’s neck.

The bald man sneered.

At that moment, the short-haired girl, who had been silently watching, spoke up: “Stab him in the a**.”

The bald man: “?”

The young man’s eyes lit up at her suggestion. “You’re right! He’s soft on the inside. I remember the patrol squad used to shove explosives up there!”

The bald man roared, “If you dare do that, I’ll haunt you even as a ghost!”

Ignoring him, Chu Muge furrowed her brow, deep in thought. “So... you’re suggesting we attack him from behind?”

The young man nodded enthusiastically. “I’ll pull his pants down!”

The short-haired girl looked away, unable to bear watching.

True to his word, the young man, with one arm in a sling, used his other hand to tug at the bald man’s pants. As the man writhed and twisted on the ground, the young man grumbled, “Quit squirming! I’m not actually going to... you know.”

The bald man’s eyes bulged with rage as he shouted, “Get off me!”

Unperturbed, the young man yanked hard, revealing a pair of white underwear.

Chu Muge averted her gaze, noticing Gu Yao still curiously watching. She quickly said, “Don’t look, senior. It’s gross.”

Gu Yao turned her head away.

“So, where are we going to find explosives?” Chu Muge asked.

At that moment, Gu Yao raised her hand and gestured.

Chu Muge followed her gaze to see Gu Yao slowly pointing to the zombie dog at her feet.

“I’ll count to three before you fire,” Chu Muge said calmly.

“Stop! Get off me! F*** you all! Fight me fair and square!”

The bald man roared, his body twisting frantically.

The zombie dog opened its mouth, positioning itself over his exposed rear, waiting for the command.

A chill ran down the man’s spine, his face turning ashen.

“Three...” Chu Muge began, her tone steady.

“You wouldn’t dare! Let me go! Let me go!”

“Two...”

“I-I’m sorry! Please! I beg you!”

“One...”

“I’ll haunt you all even in death—AAAAHH—”

Boom!

The zombie dog’s air cannon fired, striking the man’s backside. The next moment, his body exploded from the inside out, scattering organs and spraying thick blood everywhere.

Fragments of bone skittered across the floor, along with bits of teeth.

The room was stained crimson, though Chu Muge and the others had kept their distance and avoided the blast radius.

“Ugh...”

The short-haired girl’s face turned pale as she averted her eyes, visibly nauseated.

The young man, however, was ecstatic, muttering to himself, “Whoa, it’s just like the classics!”

Viscous blood dripped from the ceiling.

Drip. Drip.

Pooling on the ground, the blood formed a puddle that included a single bloodshot eyeball.
